When American consumers apply for a mortgage loan they are given a Settlement Cost booklet by their lender to learn more about the mortgage process.
The original booklet was 83 pages long; the booklet redesign is now 28 pages long.
How did we get there?
We studied all the research CFPB has conducted on the home shopping culture and the timeline associated with it.
We conducted user testing with American consumers to select the concept that tested better: the toolkit concept won!
We design 2 different sizes to accommodate the mortgage industry: large and small (the industry mail out the booklet in 3.63" x 6.50" envelop).
